Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies but Real Madrid are leading the charge for him.

The report adds United made an enquiry about the 23-year-old earlier this month and their interest is becoming more concrete. However, Los Blancos still seem the favourites to recruit the left-back when his contract expires next summer.

Davies has, arguably, proven to be one of the best left-backs in the world over the past few years and his contract situation has attracted the interest of Madrid, United, and Barcelona, too. At the end of this season, he will be a free agent and will have a wealth of enticing options to choose from.
Davies' agent, Nick Huoseh, told recently: "I will not throw insults around when discussing Alphonso's future. My priority is Alphonso's future. I have always said: If Bayern want to discuss something, we can talk about it in the boardroom."
Aside from transfer speculation on Davies' future, his Bayern side — who sit top of the Bundesliga — travel to basement team Bochum on Sunday afternoon, before rounding off October away at Mainz next Wednesday in the DFB-Pokal.
